Whitchurch, Hampshire

Accredited since: 2015

Whitchurch Walkers are Welcome is actively involved in promoting walking locally and developing new walking opportunities in North Hampshire. 2023 saw the launch of the new Test & Dever Way 14 or 19 mile circular trail www.whitchurch.org/uk/what-to-do and the release of a promotional video for the Whitchurch heritage Mill Trail https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXIHZQ2rzYg.

Our enthusiastic band of footpath volunteers can be found throughout the year removing litter, clearing vegetation and maintaining footpaths – Our weekly Wednesday walks regularly attract around 40 walkers and our Monday Evening Ramblers have been walking the footpaths for over forty years; if you are visiting Whitchurch do come along and join in.

We continue to work closely with the North West Hampshire Access Team, the North Wessex Downs Management Group, our public transport providers, County tourism bodies and local partner groups to further develop tourism opportunities in North Hampshire.

For a small rural town, Whitchurch has excellent train and bus services that link with many of the walks in the area. The town is on the main line from London Waterloo through Salisbury to Exeter and there are regular direct bus links to Basingstoke, Andover and Winchester.

We look forward to welcoming you to Whitchurch, Hampshire’s smallest town.
