Proud to be Croeso y Gerddwyr Trefaldwyn with walking opportunities for everyone and we have produced a set of delightful circular walks out of the town available as leaflets or to download from the town website. We have worked with other small communities nearby to produce some 15 walks to enjoy in the locality Montgomery has an annual walking festival the first weekend in October with walks ranging from 2.5 miles to our traditional ‘challenge’ walk. Local businesses support our Festival and Monty’s Brewery Oktoberfest is now a traditional favourite.
We can offer guided walks for groups and organise talks and events for visitors. There are regular monthly walking groups for local people and we organise walking events with groups such our school and guides.
Working with the Vale of Montgomery communities we have a team of Footpath Volunteers and Wardens who aim to ensure all our promoted walks are easy to access and follow for residents and visitors alike and work on slowly improving our myriad Rights of Way.
Our current project is planning and publishing a series of ‘bus walks’ to extend the possibilities for one way walking and removing the need to use a car.
