We offer a range of promotional material to our accredited members and provisional members. Please note that all material is copyrighted to Walkers are Welcome and written permission is required to reproduce material by third parties.
Members’ Handbook
The Members’ digital Handbook is available to download by clicking here.
The handbook is full of useful information and ideas about how your town can continue promoting the area as a Walkers are Welcome town or village. There is information on marketing, walking festivals, leaflets to mentoring, the annual Get -Together and the work of the volunteers on the National Executive.
The National Committee welcome comments on the contents and future inclusions.
Insurance
For those seeking public liability insurance to cover guided walks and other activities, many of our members use a not-for-profit insurance from Zurich which appears to be competitive. It is important to check that your activities and arrangements are fully insured.
The package policy is either £96.00 or £157.00, depending on the activities of the individual groups.
For further information see https://www.zurich.co.uk/en/charity-insurance/public-liability-insurance-quote
It includes six lines of cover:
- £5,000,000 Public Liability
- £10,000,000 Employer’s Liability (many groups won’t have employees, but this would extend to include anyone on work experience as well)
- £25,000 Contents Cover
- £100,000 Trustees Indemnity Insurance
- Personal Accident
- Money Cover
There is an option of a direct debit, splitting the cost across 10 months, with no additional percentage added, so either £9.60 or £15.70 per month.
A bespoke policy is also available tailored to the exact activity levels of the groups in question, and thus the price will vary depending on what needs to be covered, starting at the minimum of £99.31 for Public Liability, and increasing if any additional cover as required. If a bespoke policy was to incur a premium greater than the £99.31, they would offer 5% discount that was historically agreed, but the lowest they would reduce cover to would be the £99.31 for Public Liability.’
