Tregaron (Bro Tregaron)

Accredited since: 2011

Tregaron is an ideal location for walkers who may wish to prospect the beautiful Cambrian Mountains, the Teifi Valley, or the abundant history of the locality. The township can provide accommodation to suit all tastes and requirments, together with a range of trading outlets that can supply everything from foodstuffs to souvenirs. Nearby, the ecologically diverse and internationally imprtant Cors Caron National Nature Reserve, permits access to boardwalks and footpaths for the delight of the dedicated naturalist or equally for the interested visitor who simply seeks to find peace and solitude in a beautiful place.
In 2022, Tregaron was proud to host the internationally important National Eisteddfod. The community enjoys the membership and support of a very active Walking Club, which conducts an annual programme of monthly walks together with a residential weekend in some especially beatiful corner of Wales. Non-member guests are always welcome to join any of our walks. We walk with care and in safety, and all of our leaders are trained in the application of First Aid. The community is presently supporting the soon-to-be-inaugurated Teifi Valley Trail, a long distance route of some 75 miles that pursues the course of the River Teifi from its source to its etuary. A programme of events in celebration of local history, culture, natural history, walking and local life is conducted annually.
