This year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the creation of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the third largest of the AONBs covering the high, open arable sweeps of the chalk downs and dramatic scarp slopes and sheltered chalk river valleys in the counties of Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
