On February 2nd, 2019 the annual Lord Crawshaw Memorial Winter walk takes place in Llanwrtyd Wells, Mid-Wales. The event is in memory of Lt. Col. The Lord Crawshaw of Aintree O.B.E. T.D.,D.L., who was a great friend and fellow walker of Llanwrtyd Wells walking club. He established a world non-stop walking record of 255.8 miles in 1972 at Aintree racecourse. This year’s walk will be marked out by Walkers are Welcome members and will include a choice of two routes 20.1 miles (32.3km) or 12.5 miles (20.2km). For this walk entrants must be properly equipped with warm clothing and sturdy footwear. You can enter on the day and the long walk starts at 8am.
