A stunning 20 mile walk above the beautiful village of Hayfield, via the Peak District’s dramatic Kinder Scout plateau. Experience the spectacular views and unique landscape of our famous gritstone and peatland landscape. Starting from the village hall, in the centre of the historic Peak District village of Hayfield.
Enjoy the first ascent to Lantern Pike with its 360 degrees viewpoint, through the picturesque village of Rowarth and over the large, flat-topped Cown Edge – with views across to Manchester and beyond, then onto Mill Hill, the Kinder Ridge, and Mount Famine – with great views of Kinder’s south-west corner. Then return to Hayfield via Ollerset and the Sett Valley Trail, the former railway line which brought the Kinder Mass Trespassers from Manchester in 1932.
