Frome is an ideal place for a walking holiday as it at the start of the East Mendip Way to Wells, it is on the Colliers Way Route 24 cycle track, is very close to The McMillan Way and is the start of The Saxon’s Kings Way, a walk that joins the Mendip Way to the Cotswolds Way at Bath Abbey.. It also has good transport links from its railway station, a daily national bus service to London and regular buses to Bath. Frome has a well-established calendar of events including the Frome Festival, the Frome Walking Festival, the Frome and Agricultural Cheese Show, the Carnival and the Frome Christmas Extravaganza. Frome is also home to a number of arts venues and galleries including The Black Swan, Rook Lane Arts, and the Silk Mill. Frome has several choirs, a symphony orchestra, a Youth Band, two theatres, a cinema and the Cheese and Grain, a fantastic live music venue. Frome host markets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, plus on the first Sunday of each month from March to December, ‘The Frome Independent Market’ comes to town. The Frome Independent is a mini festival that attracts thousands of visitors and brings together the best local food and drink, artists and designers, collectables and street entertainment.
