Last month, Jenny and Jo from Marsden Walkers are Welcome attended the famous Honley Show to spread the word about the group and Walkers are Welcome generally. Visitors to their stand could enter a raffle for a copy of “The West Yorkshire Woods”, a beautiful cartographic book by Christopher Goddard (kindly donated by local bookshop, A New Leaf). There was also a fun activity where visitors could try to guess the number of walking socks in a jar!
The show, which is a traditional agricultural show, attracts visitors from far and wide. The aims of Honley Show Society are to promote agriculture, outdoor skills and responsibility for the countryside, whether for leisure or employment and Marsden Walkers are Welcome were kindly invited to participate by Natural Kirklees.
