1. Initial interest in becoming a WALKERS ARE WELCOME town

When you first consider becoming a WALKERS ARE WELCOME community, please make contact with us. You can do this by completing this online form .

2. Become an Associate Member of the Network

As soon as possible after your initial contact, and before your plans develop too far, you should formally register as an Associate Member of the Walkers are Welcome Towns Network. Print off and complete the PDF application form and return it by post to the address given. You'll be put in touch with someone from another WaW community who aill act as your informal mentor.

3. Application for Walkers are Welcome status

When you believe you have successfully met the six criteria, it's time to make your application! Use this form (Word). Your application will be considered by the Walkers are Welcome Towns Network committee. (We normally meet every six weeks)

To give you some of idea of how to complete this form, here is an example of a recent successful application.

When you have been awarded the status, we will issue you with the formal certificate which will demonstrate that your community has WALKERS ARE WELCOME status.
